  • Improved and standardized current Geo A/B testing methods by moving parts written in R into Python and introducing parallel computing for shortening the test design time from more than 20 hours to 2 hours.
  • Expanded Geo A/B testing method to new markets. The improved method reduced variance on new markets (30% revenue compared to mature US market) by more than 40%. Currently being used in Canada.
  • Created a map-based visualization tool for presenting A/B testing test design. Using the tool, engineers and scientists can communicate more easily and efficiently with PMs and stakeholders for discussing test design as previously only a list of area IDs were shown.

Featurespace, Atlanta GA — Data Scientist Intern

  • Processed the real-world streaming financial dataset and engineered 20 new features for identifying users and merchants’ behaviors.
  • Researched more than 15 papers on interpretable machine learning.
  • Integrated several methods including ML techniques and built a model-agnostic interpretable machine learning model. Interpreter achieves 99% accuracy for the local boundary and >80% for the global (evaluation metrics introduced in LIME paper).

Google Ignite CS at Emory leader for coaching high school students Arduino

Initiated first Ignite CS team at Emory founded by Google for coaching high school students programming knowledge. Leader of a team of 8 mentors for mentoring 16 mentees. Designed the course using Arduino for fun learning and guided mentees throughout the process.

Chest X-Ray Diagnosis X-ray diagnosis by Deep Learning

Used Fastai implemented CheXpert paper. Achieved accuracy close to paper and better in multi-class case (“uncertainty” as 3rd class).

Pathway — Android and Back-end Development

Built an Android app implementing the idea of having an affordable indoor navigation system for every business. Path finding and other algorithms were designed and coded by ourselves and hosted on GCP.
